If you use EBBE on the computer where BlackBerry Desktop Software is installed and properly configured, it detects the location of backups available here. Select [File] | [Open] menu item or press [Open] button on the tool bar; the list of available backups will be shown. Select the one from the list (or from another location), and the file will be loaded into the program. Note: if the file is password-protected, you will be prompted to enter the password; if you don't know it, you can use Elcomsoft Phone Password Breaker to recover it.
Once the file is loaded, you can view its contents by selecting an appropriate category in the left, or by switching between the tabs in the right window. The categories incude:
At the right of the category name, the number of records (available there) is shown.
For Messages, only From/To/Subjects/Date fields are shown in the main window; double-click on the message to see its text.
Please note that for some categories, not all of the information is available, simply because it is not saved to backup file (and stored only in the device itself). For example, for attachments you can only see the file names, but files themselves are not available (cannot be viewed or exported).
